Dear Dad,

Just writing to tell you that I was thinking of you today, thinking of you as an is, not a was, speaking of you in the present. We all wonder often what you would think of current events in the world. Now we have to think for ourselves, but we think with the wisdom you imparted to us.
I think I will make some soup... just like you once or twice made for me.
