I have known Ed since the late 70's, of course we always referred to him as
"Jim's Dad". When I lived in Buffalo, I owned a house on Sweethome Road. To
this day, whenever I think of Ed, its always of him riding his bicycle down
Sweethome Road between the Main Street campus and the Amherst campus. We
would always wave to him as he would pedal by. It didn't matter if it was
raining or snowing, he would pedal that bike. What a dedicated man he was. I
remember, Jim once told me, Ed could remember every paper each student turned
in and woe to the student who thought he could slip one by the old professor.
