I remember the first time I saw Ed. It was on a warm summer day when running at Delaware Park back many years ago. The friend I was running with had taken one of Ed's courses at UB. Ed was walking around the 1.8 mile ring road with his dog. After that I would see him daily at the park. Finally, Dave Broad, who at one time resided at Ed's home introduced me to Ed. Although I did not know Ed very well he never forgot my name and always said hello. Over the years I would run into him at various functions. I just want anyone who reads this to know that Ed was not only a fixture in the academic community but also at Delaware Park. We will all miss him.
